oh january

once there was a city girl (well, sort of) and a small-town boy who loved each other very much. the two decided, one sunday, to take a drive to nowhere in particular. they ended up in the beauty that is Sunshine Canyon, where neither of them had been before, and they took wonderful photographs and enjoyed the splendid little treck together.

they photographed small-town boy's new car :)

. . . and the wonderful wilderness around.
Sunshine Canyon was not a cold place, so jackets weren't necessary.

the view from the top was absolutely breath-taking. you could see fresh, untouched snow on the valley in all directions.

. . . but the sunset was, perhaps, the best part.

last weekend, my cousin's kyle and kelsey came to visit us!
(kyle)

(kelsey)

we ate lots of food, watched movies, played games, went sledding, and they did some snowboarding! they're from arizona, so they're unfortunate enough (yeah right) to not have snow. i'm thinking of trading them places.

jeremy just bein cute

kelsey sledding down the hill. she died moments after this picture was taken because she crashed into a pile of small children. no, just kidding. but can you imagine??

tara and brett

me, looking very Zac Efron-ish for some reason :( just when you think you're out of the awkward phases that you experienced in jr. high . . . you go and make the brilliant decision to cut your hair super short, then attempt to grow it back out again, only to suffer through more awkward phases of Teen-Beat-esque appearances. may this always be a reminder. short hair is easy. but it is NOT easy to grow out.

my grandpa is the cutest man on this earth. he is building me an art desk! and i can hardly keep my self calm enough to wait for it. we went with walnut. i think it will turn out to be quite the amazing project. he is so talented, it's almost unbelievable. these are some of the before shots of my future desk.

grandpa moves lighting-quick to grab all the wood that is needed, while i pause for a picture. looking (hopefully) a tad less Zac-Efron-ish

doing the necessary measurements and calculations.

having fun testing out the macro-feature on my compact canon camera.
don't they look like alien fingers?? don't worry. i thought so, too.

one of my most favorite gifts EVER! the lovely lee made me some adorable hand warmers. i use them SOOO much, they're already in need of a wash. you can find lee's etsy shop he r e . . . oh wait, she doesn't have a shop . . . yet. gosh dang-it, lee, i have had so many complements on these things, just open up a shop already! :) i want more of your special creations!
